We are always on the look out for new members. If you have seen our productions and concerts, you will see that we are a small and enthusiastic group. There is no audition for membership, nor do you have to be able to read music. If you are looking for something to occupy the cold nights in winter, why not consider joining us?

“Ballads, Songs & Snatches”
3rd & 10th June, 2022
These concerts were well received and the Company had great fun in presenting a large variety of G&S medleys. Some familiar and some, not so familiar. The second performance (10thJune) was given on the hottest day of the year, we seem to do the summer concerts on very hot days. Thankfully, the church in which we performed the second concert, All Saints, Carshalton, was lovely and cool inside. The heat hit us when we left the church after the rehearsal – like opening the oven door!!
We would like to thank the clergy and staff of both churches for their wonderful hospitality and to the audiences who turned out to support these concerts.

UTOPIANS UNLIMITED
A fundraising Gilbert & Sullivan group
The Utopians, founded in 1980, were originally a small concert party which has since morphed into a larger group of friends (hence the "unlimited"). We stage Gilbert & Sullivan shows in churches in Croydon and nearby boroughs for church fundraising and enjoyment.
Our productions are costumed and lit, with the music and dialogue performed by a dedicated core group of principals and chorus, with additional chorus singers (the choir), often from the church at which the performance is taking place. The onstage cast work very hard to learn and perfect the production and the offstage backing provided by the choir is an essential and unique part of the production.
Of course, we cannot put on the shows without the support of the churches involved and we hope we can help them to raise funds whilst doing what we love.
We have no constitution or rules and welcome all those who love singing / performing. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings in the Purley area.
